I don't exactly come from a glamorous, exciting background, in fact, my background is quite humble. I have never been involved with financial markets prior to five years ago and did not have any interest in it. I had no idea what Wall Street was, in fact, I thought it was just a name of a street in New York City. I knew absolutely nothing about the financial markets. I have always been an Entrepreneur. I have been self employed since my early 20's and have gone from business to business. Being self employed is not all that it is cracked up to be if you are unhappy with what you do. Until I discovered Retail Forex Trading nearly five years ago I did not think I would ever find a business opportunity that I enjoyed. Sure, it's nice not having a boss telling you what to do and how much your worth but if you are going to work for yourself it is very important you enjoy doing what you do. I have managed to go most of my adult years without having a boss but I have never really been content with the businesses I have been involved in.

It was my most recent business which I am still slightly involved in that launched my into Forex Trading. This business is Home Theatre and Consumer Electronics, Satellite TV and Telecommunications. It was nearly five years ago I was performing a service call for a client in West Palm Beach. I knew this client quite well and knew he was not very computer savvy. One day when I came to his tiny apartment to hook up a Satellite Dish for him I noticed that he had a big desk in the middle of his dining room with like six large screen, high resolution monitors mounted on the desk. What is this guy up to I was thinking. The last time I saw him a half a year prior he did not even know how to save a file to his desktop, now he has all these monitors with all these different charts. Did he suddenly just become a graphics designer I wondered to myself?

I could not hold back my temptation to finally ask my client 'What's up with all the monitors?' He replied to me that he was Trading Forex. What is Forex I asked him. He explained to me that he was trading currency pairs. I had no idea or a clue as to what he was even talking about. I asked him a few more questions and he explained to me that trading currency is different than stocks and how he was learning how gleam profits from the currency market. After I left his home I thought about what he explained to me for a few minutes then finally dismissed it and forgot all about it.

It wasn't until a couple weeks later that I saw a TV Commercial advertising a free seminar regarding Forex that caught my attention and then instantly recalled the discussion I had with my client a couple weeks prior. So, I checked out the Website that was listed on the TV Commercial and began to read about it. I was then compelled to do a Google Search on Forex and began some research. The more I read the more interested I became. As I read more and more my interest and excitement grew more and more. Soon after I was compelled to call my client to purge more info out of him. Which Websites he recommends, Books, Software, etc, etc. He was more than happy to give me all the info he had. I was overwhelmed. For the next year I devoted all my spare time to researching the Forex Market. During that year I did not study Forex, just researched what it was and how it effected real, everyday people. I was sold but still overwhelmed.

I finally opened a Live Mini Account and a Demo Account with FXCM. This is where the studying truly began. I received the free course since I opened up a Live Account and I started to practice then started to trade my live account and blew thorough a thousand bucks in a couple days. I don't give up on things very easily so I charged my Account again, eventually to blow all that money as well and this process repeated itself more times than I even care to remember.

Obviously the Free Complimentary Educational Materials was not benefitting me. I began to think that Forex is unwinnable but at the same time kept thinking that if I could turn these huge losses around they would be huge wins. It always seemed that if I went short price rose, if I went long price fell. If price was falling and I entered a short, price would reverse itself the moment I would enter the trade and vice versa if I went long on a green candle. It was very frustrating to me. I now understand why that was but back then I didn't have a clue.

With the dissatisfaction of my current business I was still determined to drive on and keep studying. I knew there were so called Forex Experts and Guru's out there and I kept thinking that if they could succeed then maybe I stand a chance. So I continued to study, study study. I went through a few very expensive Software Learning Packages and Video/Audio Programs and countless E-Books and Websites. I began a three your journey that took me through just about every Forex Webinar on the Internet, every YouTube Video I could possibly find. I study Website after Website after Website. I watched the same videos over and over and read through the same Websites over and over, read the same books and E-Books over and over and practiced and practiced and practiced. I studies 16 hours a day, 7 days a week and practiced trading during every market hour. This went of for three years straight. I neglected my family, I neglected my electronics business and neglected my social life. What I barrage of imagery when I think back about it all.

Now when I look back at the three year sacrifice I made to learn Forex it was well worth the effort and has paid off. I believe that if I could do it, anyone can. What I had going for me was a home based business that earned income while I studied. My business had an income generating Website which enabled me to still earn a living while staying home in front of my computer studying day in and day out. Of course, due to this exceptionally long sacrifice my income was greatly reduced. I became an expert of Technical Analysis and developed a natural instinct of the flow of money. I can now recognize patterns and can I identify when a decent swing is developing. Unfortunately by the time I mastered all this I did not have enough money to work with. I stopped trading with a Demo Account nearly a year ago and have been trading a Micro account ever since. In fact, my Real Money Micro Account is my Demo Account.
